Whistle support
Whistle is the app Nipomo Soccer referees use to time a match and report the score. If something is not working, this page covers the things that go wrong most often. If it does not answer your question, write to admin@nipomosoccer.com and a person will read it.
You do not need an account to watch. Scores, schedules and standings are open to anyone at whistle.nipomosoccer.com and in the app. Signing in is only for referees and organizers.
Getting in
I signed in but I have no matches
This is the usual one, and it is not a bug. Two things have to happen before a match appears: an organizer has to approve your referee record, and somebody has to assign you to a match. Until both are done your assignment list is correctly empty. Ask your league's referee assignor, and if you have just been approved, close the app fully and open it again so it picks up your new permissions.
There is no password, and that is deliberate
You sign in with Apple or with Google, whichever you prefer. There is no Whistle password to create, forget, or have stolen, because we never handle one. If you cannot get in, the problem is with that Apple or Google account rather than with Whistle, so try signing in to it somewhere else first.
I signed in with the wrong account
Sign out from Account and sign back in with the other one. If a referee record was already created under the wrong account, write to us and say which one to keep; we can only have one referee record per person per league.
During a match
I have no signal on the field
Keep going. Everything you record is saved on the phone first and sent when there is signal, so the clock, the goals and the final score are all safe if the connection drops in the middle of a half. You will see a count of what is still waiting to send. It sends itself; you do not need to do anything.
If something still has not sent hours later, open Account and check the queue. If an entry is stuck there, take a photo of the screen before you do anything else and send it to us — that screen tells us exactly what happened.
The clock is wrong, or the period buzz came at the wrong time
The app takes the number of periods and their length from the division you are refereeing, not from a fixed rule, so a division playing four twelve-minute quarters is timed as four twelve-minute quarters. If your division has not loaded yet — which happens on a cold start with no signal — the app deliberately shows a plain period number and does not buzz at all, rather than guessing. If the times are wrong once the division has loaded, the division is configured wrong; tell your organizer.
I recorded something by mistake
Undo it immediately if it has not sent yet. Once a record has reached the league it is permanent by design, because it is part of a competitive result. Submit the match as it actually finished and then ask for a correction from the match screen; an organizer resolves it. Do not try to compensate with a second wrong entry.
I already submitted and the score was wrong
A referee cannot reopen a closed match, on purpose. Use Request a correction on that match, say what it should be, and an organizer decides. Nothing changes until they do.
Watch app
Apple Watch and Wear OS have no sign-in of their own. They borrow a credential from the paired phone, so the phone has to be signed in and has to have been near the watch at least once. If the watch says it has no match, open the match on the phone first.
Your account and your data
You can delete your account yourself at any time, from Account in any of the apps. What is removed and what is kept is explained in full at whistle.nipomosoccer.com/delete-account.
What we hold, why, and how long we keep it is in the Whistle section of the club's privacy policy at nipomosc.org/privacy. The short version: no player records of any kind, no advertising, no analytics, no tracking.
Still stuck
Write to admin@nipomosoccer.com. It helps a great deal if you say which league you referee for, which match, and roughly what time it happened, because that is what lets us find the record.
